Congregation Shir Ami comes together to help alleviate food insecurity – The Bucks County Herald

| March 21, 2024

Shir Ami Reform Synagogue of Newtown collected 31,174 pounds of food for eight local hunger relief agencies during 2023. Not only does this collection help people experiencing food insecurity, it also supports the synagogues Code Blue initiative, where the congregation housed homeless persons overnight during extremely cold nights in the month of December. Marc Luber, Shir Ami board member and food insecurity chairperson, expressed his gratitude to the congregation and the community stating, Our local community came through in a big way with food donations over the past year
