The planned reintroduction of a bill funding appointments of new municipal rabbis is ratcheting up tensions in the wartime coalition headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Erstwhile partners Benny Gantz and Gideon Saar both object to the planned relaunch of the bill from 2023, which was stalled by the war, to appoint hundreds of new city rabbis at a cost of tens of millions of shekels annually, representatives of their parties say. Zeev Elkin, a member of Gideon Saars New Hope party, has informed coalition whip Ofir Katz of Netanyahus Likud party of the objection, citing an agreement signed by all coalition members to refrain from advancing any legislation without the pre-approval of all coalition parties, Makor Rishon reports

At the time, she was an exchange student in Germany and she had been deeply moved by the pictures she saw of desperate people arriving there in small boats. French authorities are searching for an assailant who attacked a man leaving a synagogue in Paris, says Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin. Darmanin says the alleged attack on a man in his early 60s was a new antisemitic attack that occurred in Paris Friday evening. Everything is being done to apprehend the perpetrator of this unspeakable act, Darmanin says in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Pawe Rytel-Andrianik On 27 February, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Fondazione Polanco - Archives of the Society of Jesus ARSI (Archivum Romanum Societatis Iesu) signed a cooperation agreement to share and digitize archival materials related to the Holocaust from the Jesuit archives dating from the period before, during and after World War II.
