Israel: huge demos call for economic reforms

Israelis poured into streets across their country in unprecedented numbers on Saturday, with police counting over a quarter of a million people joining protests calling for sweeping economic reforms. Israel has approved the building of thousands of new settlements in a dusputed area in East Jerusalem creating tension with Palestinians. Peace talks between the two sides have been deadlocked by the construction of Jewish homes in the West Bank. And as analyst Gershon Baskin told RT, the latest announcement is yet another step away from a compromise.
