Orly Vital spent more than a decade of her adult life trapped in a marriage she wanted to leave. Spousal laws in Israel meant the 44-year-old ultra-Orthodox Jew couldn't divorce her husband without his permission. Ms Vital said that while he was a controlling man, she did not expect her husband wouldrefuse to free her.

The Israeli authorities must immediately halt the forcible eviction of more than 1,000 residents from Masafer Yatta, a Palestinian community in the occupied West Bank, Amnesty International said today, following weeks in which the Israeli army has repeatedly harassed people in the area, demolished homes and placed restrictions on freedom of movement. Inside Israel, the authorities must recognize the housing rights of Palestinian Bedouin citizens in the Negev/Naqab desert, who saw their village, al-Araqib, demolished again this morning, Tuesday 19 July.

His fist bump with the murderous Saudi Crown Prince was widely criticized, even by mainstream media, because Biden spent a ton of political capital without much in return; oil prices went up. A Secret Service worker in Israel ahead of President Bidens visit to the Middle East was sent home from Jerusalem after physically assaulting a woman outside a bar, CNN reported Wednesday. The Secret Service confirmed to The Post that the agency was informed late Monday that an employee was allegedly involved in a physical encounter.
