The Sierra Vista Environmental Operations Park (EOP), also known as the wastewater treatment plant, is open for bird walks each Sunday morning. The walks take about two hours and are led by docents from Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory (SABO), Huachuca Audubon Society (HAS), and the Friends of the San Pedro River (FSPR). The walks begin Sundays at 8 a.m. on Nov. 17, and 24 and depart from the viewing platform inside the EOP. The entrance is located on Highway 90 between mile markers 324 and 325 on the north side of the highway. All tours are free, although donations are accepted. Dress appropriately for the weather, bring drinking water, trail shoes or similar footwear, a hat, and use sun protection. The Cochise College Bi-National Chorus, Orchestra and Instrument Ensemble will present Songs of Hope and Thanksgiving at two locations in November. The first concert is 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at the Douglas Government Center, located at G Street and 11th Avenue. The second performance is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at St. Johns Episcopal Church at 19 Sowles Ave. in Bisbee. Concerts are free and open tothepublic.
