Ban on palm frond export hits Gaza farmers

Farmers who grow palm trees in the Gaza Strip say they will endure more than one million dollars in losses after Hamas banned the export of the its fronds to Israel. While Israel blocks almost all exports from besieged Gaza strip, it had announced this year an exception for palm tree fronds. The fronds are used to celebrate a Jewish holiday which starts on Wednesday.
