The Sierra Vista Genealogy Club will meet at the Ether Berger Center on March 6 at 1 p.m. The program will be on The Tech Side of Genealogy presented by Barbara Schirmer. For more information, go to sierravistagenie.wordpress.com, or call (520)803-7903.

The Jewish Womens Group of Sierra Vista will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6. A financial advisor will discuss women and finances in todays world. The meeting will be held at the Card House of the Vista View Resort, 441 Clubhouse Road in Sierra Vista. A potluck- style lunch will be served. Birders of all levels are invited to participate in upcoming bird walks sponsored by the Friends of the San Pedro River. The walks are scheduled for Wednesdays on March 6, 13, 20, and 27, and also Saturday March 23 at 8 a.m. and depart from the San Pedro House, 9800 Highway 90, east of Sierra Vista at the river. There is no charge for the walks, however, donations are accepted to support docent programs. The Compassionate Friends will meet Wednesday, March 6 from 6:30 8:30 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2053 E. Choctaw Drive. The Compassionate Friends is a nonprofit self-help bereavement support organization for families that have experienced the death of a child. They offer friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, siblings, grandparents, and other family members during the natural grieving process after a child of any age has died. Every Wednesday from Jan. 23 through April 10, Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning hosts a Lunch Lecture Wednesdays Series on the Sierra Vista Campus in the Community Outreach Building, Room 702 from 12:10 to 1 p.m. that is free and open to the public. On Wednesday, March 6, there will be a presentation on aeroponic gardening with David Sicely. This concept provides a way for you to enjoy fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers indoors or outdoors year round. Visit Cochise College for Celtic Culture Day, an event filled with music, dance, poetry and food, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 6 at the Sierra Vista Campus Student Union. There will be lectures, Getting Started with Genealogy and The Search for John Joseph Foley, an open poetry reading, playing of traditional Irish ballads, and an Irish dance performance and workshop. The regular meeting of National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Sierra Vista chapter 1400 is Thursday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at Manda Le Restaurant.
