Hunger Striking Palestinian Jailed In Israel Is Uncertain Of Release BEITUNIA, West Bank mdash; Hundreds of Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli security forces outside an Israeli prison near Ramallah on Thursday in the latest of a wave of demonstrations in support of four Palestinian prisoners who have been on extended hunger strikes to protest their incarceration. The worsening condition of the prisoners has raised tensions in the West Bank and brought expressions of concern this week from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the European Union. Two of the striking prisoners were hospitalized Thursday, according to a spokeswoman for the Israeli Prisons Service
