Lithuania is facing a torrent of international criticism after a government official denied the existence of the holocaust. Embassies from several European states have signed a letter of protest against an article claiming the Nuremberg Trials gave a legal basis to the Holocaust 'legend'. The author, Petras Stankeras, has now resigned from the Ministry of the Interior

Settlement expansion in the Occupied Territories of Palestine is about more than constructing houses for Jewish settlers. Palestinian farmland is being turned into industrial space. Illegal outposts on Palestinian land are protected by Israeli military.
