Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron, who served as Israels Sephardic Chief Rabbi (Rishon Letzion) between the years of 1993 and 2003, passed away on April 12, in the middle of Passover, as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19). He was 79 years old. Bakshi-Doron was born in Jerusalem in 1941.
