Nachum Lamm, known asNorman Lamm, entered the rabbinate just as the second half of the twentiethcentury was getting underway. In 1951 he was ordained at the Rabbi IsaacElchanan Theological Seminary at Yeshiva University (YU), where he hadpreviously earned a degree in chemistry. In 1966 he would go on to complete aPhD in Jewish Philosophy at YUs Bernard Revel Graduate School.
