CENTER CITY --

Dan Seltzer from Congregation Rodeph Shalom says 65-year-old Lee Stanley was a fixture in their synagogue.

He says, "He was dedicated to synagogue life."

Seltzer continued, "He participated in many activities at the synagogue, he was a member of the choir, a member of the men's club he attended the weekly bible study and he participated in that."

Stanley, who was describe as eccentric, had no known enemies according to people who knew him.

Seltzer said, "He was a very gentle guy. There's no reason why somebody would have a reason to harm him."

At Noon on Friday, August 15th, Stanley's body was found by workers on the floor in his living room on the 100 block of Mole Street in Center City Philadelphia.

He suffered a blow to the chest that proved fatal due to a previous heart condition.

"There was no sign of forced entry, no sign of anything having been stolen," said Seltzer.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $5,000 reward from his synagogue and up to $20,000 from the City of Philadelphia for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
