Services During the Year

Days and times: Friday nights at 7 p.m.; Saturday mornings: P'skei d'Zimra at 9:30 a.m.; Torah service at 10:30 a.m.; Torah discussion at 11:30 a.m.

During the spring and summer, Friday night services are accompanied by guitar until sundown when Shabbat actually begins. Contact Rabbi Scheinberg if you would like to play an musical instrument during this part of the service.

Evening minyan takes place on Monday evenings, and occasional Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, at 7:30 pm. If you are interested in joining the minyan, please check with the office beforehand (201-659-4000) to make sure it will be taking place on that date.

Most services are predominantly in Hebrew. Transliterations and sheet music are available. Services on Friday and Saturday are followed by Kiddush -- refreshments, and an opportunity for worshippers to meet one another.

Our services are characterized by enthusiastic singing and congregational participation. Services are led by members of the congregation under the guidance of the Rabbi. Shabbat morning services include a Torah study discussion. You are invited to join us for all or part of any of our Shabbat services, which are open to the public. If you are not accustomed to traditional Shabbat morning services, you may want to arrive at 11:00 am or 11:30 am to attend the Torah service, Torah study discussion, and the conclusion of the service.

Children are welcomed in our community and encouraged to participate during services.

The Learning Center accepts children from the age of 2.5 years, and has classes every Saturday morning at 11:00.

Babysitting is provided on Shabbat from 10:00 to 12:30 for toddlers and children up to 6 years of age. Please pre-register for this program.

We also offer special programs for young children on Shabbat. There is no charge, but we request that you pre-register.
