York University’s ‘Toolkit on Teaching Palestine’ endangers campus Jews – The Jerusalem Post

| April 11, 2024

Since October 7, there has been a proliferation of students vocalizing their views on the Hamas-Israel war. Most universities are no strangers to differing views; however, the already prominent friction between students has increased since the Palestinian Solidarity Working Group released its Toolkit on Teaching Palestine at York University. As a Canadian student based in Ontario, I am deeply concerned about the damage this toolkit could cause to the Jewish community both on and off campus

Jonathan Glazer is just a useful idiot for the enemies of the Jewish people – opinion – The Jerusalem Post

| March 13, 2024

The natural response to Jonathan Glazers acceptance speech of an Oscar for is recent movie The Zone of Interest, is one of utter disgust and disappointment. Glazer specifically said that he refutes his Jewish ancestry and secondly accuses Israel (whom he doesnt mention by name) of hijacking the Holocaust by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many, for so many, innocent people. These days, such an accusation by a Jew is probably the most damning accusation imaginable, and when it is leveled at us by the director of an apparently highly successful film, which focuses on the Hoess family of the commander of the Auschwitz Birkenau death camp, and purports to deal with where dehumanization leads, it is hard to ignore

‘Acknowledging Jewish victims will cost him’: Jewish creators comment on Jonathan Glazer’s speech – The Jerusalem Post

| March 13, 2024

At the 96th Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night, British-Jewish director Jonathan Glazer, whose film, The Zone of Interest, had just won the Oscar for Best International Feature, made a somewhat garbled statement critical of the Israeli governments policy, conflating the Occupation with the Holocaust. Many Israeli officials and Jewish leaders criticized the statement, but some Jews in Hollywood actually cheered it. Thats because he did what so few who have criticized Israels decision to respond militarily to Hamass October 7 attack on Israel in which about 1,200 Israelis were murdered (and raped, burned, dismembered, and tortured) and 240 were taken hostage have done: He mentioned the victims of October 7 in Israel.

Jonathan Glazer, the director of the Best International Feature academy award winning Holocaust film, "The Zone of Interest," was "vile" and "auto-antisemitic" for saying during his award speech that belonged to those who "refute their Jewishness and [refute] the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation," Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli (Likud) said to the Jerusalem Post on Monday.
