Since October 7, there has been a proliferation of students vocalizing their views on the Hamas-Israel war. Most universities are no strangers to differing views; however, the already prominent friction between students has increased since the Palestinian Solidarity Working Group released its Toolkit on Teaching Palestine at York University. As a Canadian student based in Ontario, I am deeply concerned about the damage this toolkit could cause to the Jewish community both on and off campus

The path to Palestinian statehood has been crushed beneath an avalanche of bombs, bullets, smoke, and fire. After Hamas is destroyed Israel must retain security control over Gaza to ensure that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel, a requirement that contradicts the demand for Palestinian sovereignty, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus office said in a prepared statement in January.

In a new report on Columbia University's protest policies, the Ivy League school's Task Force on Antisemitism declined to say whether calls for "intifada" violate school rules, saying that while some students "feel strongly" that the chant invokes genocide, others feel strongly that it does not. The report, released Monday, is the task force's first attempt to provide recommendations to Columbia's leaders regarding their response to rising campus anti-Semitism.

Three leading Jewish organizations launched a pro bono antisemitism helpline on Thursday to assist California parents of children experiencing anti-Jewish harassment in K-12 schools. The pilot helpline comes after a complaint was filed on Wednesday against Berkeley, Californias K-12 system detailing a number of reports from parents and students exposing antisemitic behavior conducted by peers and teachers.

The America First Policy Institutes model resolution, Condemning Jew-Hatred and Fighting Holocaust Denial, is designed to be adapted by governing boards for their respective university systems. The resolutions purpose is to express the boards commitment to protecting Jewish students and combating Jew-hatred on college campuses. The resolution acknowledges that university leaders have an obligation under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act (1964) to ensure that no student is denied equal access to school programs or opportunities due to discrimination or harassment based on race, sex, or national origin
