Ari Fuld, HYD, Remembered During Worldwide Tefillat Esther – Jewish Link of Bronx, Westchester and Connecticut

Religious Zionists of AmericaMizrachi, in collaboration with IsraEd (Israel Education Network), will be hosting an interactive, online tefillah initiative with schools across North America. Scheduled for Tuesday, March 9, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Ari Fuld Project in his memory.

In Megillat Esther, Esther encourages the Jewish people to unite in prayer and fasting for the safety of the Jewish people. This event, scheduled for Taanit Esther, the fast on the day before Purim, will commemorate Esthers request to gather the Jewish people by gathering 5,000 students to daven and sing together through interactive videoconferencing. With the program initiating in Eretz Yisrael, students connections to Israel will be strengthened. The resounding impact of Jewish unity will be supported by the number of student participants.

Rabbi David Israel, executive vice president of RZA-Mizrachi, proposed, At this time of anti-Semitism in the U.S. and around the world, not to mention threats from Iran (the Esther story took place in Persia) to wipe Israel off the map, what could be a better response than a show of unity and prayer?

Featuring divrei Torah and chizuk by Rav HaRashi HaRav David Baruch Lau, Ashkenazi chief rabbi of Israel, and Sivan Rahav Meir, World Mizrachi shlicha and celebrated journalist, the program will begin at 11:30 a.m. EST and will last for 45 minutes. Students in seventh through 12th grades across North America will join together for an interactive atzeret tefillah from the Kotel and will recite tehillim and prayers for the welfare of the state of Israel and the Jewish people.

Worldwide Tefillat Esther was created by Rabbi Joel Cohn, founder of IsraEd, an online platform of Israeli education in schools, synagogues and communities. At press time, participating schools in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut areas include Hebrew Academy of Long Beach, Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy/Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School, Manhattan Day School, Shulamith School for Girls, Westchester Torah Academy, Yeshiva University High School for Girls, Yavneh Academy, Yeshivat Noam and Yeshivat HeAtid. Additional schools participating from outside the tri-state area are from communities in Phoenix, Boca Raton, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, San Diego, Chicago and Toronto.
