Oy vey? Or mazeltov?

We're not sure what the more appropriate response is to the disclosure that U2 singer Bono -- who last month suffered serious injuries in a bicycling accident in New York's Central Park -- likes to don a rather distinctive disguise when he's out pedaling and shifting gears in public.

In a Wednesday interview with Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM, U2 guitarist the Edge was asked why no photos were taken in the immediate aftermath of Bono's painful November bicycle accident.

After all, it was a busy Sunday afternoon in the largest park in Manhattan. How could Bono not have been recognized after his accident by anyone walking by?

"You know, when Bono goes cycling he likes to dress up as a Hasidic Jew," the Edge replied.

This response may raise more questions than it answers.

Namely, does Ozzy Osbourne go biking disguised as a Mormon missionary?

Does Taylor Swift dress up like an Amway sales representative for her anonymous jaunts in public?

And, of course, how long will it be before Sacha Baron Cohen or Weird Al makes a video of a Bono-like character, wearing semi-rabbinical attire, riding a bike, as he sings a mash-up of "Vertigo" and "Where the Streets Have No Name?"
